Round table discussions
Round-table discussion groups aim to bring together technical specialists with smaller staff groups to develop and explain ideas or concepts and answer questions in an informal, interactive setting.
These discussions can be designed around specific topics, such as scientific questions or the geology of geographic areas of interest. With the current pandemic travel restrictions, round-table discussions are ideally suited for online. |
Mentoring
Mentoring is designed around individual needs. Traditionally companies have allocated mentors internally to facilitate staff development, but this has become more difficult given changes in company demographics and the loss of experience.

Workshops
Workshops provide the opportunity for much greater interaction with attendees, and this is our preference over traditional lecture classes, although we offer these too.
Workshops can be tailored to team needs and adapted to include in-house examples and materials. We have already run workshops on topics including the following: crustal architecture; tectonics; paleoclimate modeling; lithofacies retrodiction; source, reservoir, and seal facies depositional systems; source-to-sink analysis. |
Field-based courses & workshops
Fieldwork is a key skill in the Earth sciences. Its importance has become more evident during the lockdowns of the last two years where we have not been able to get into the field.
We have built a collection of field ‘cases’ that takes us to different outcrops, or groups of outcrops, worldwide. With these, we develop regional understanding, concepts, and ideas. Then, using this ‘case’ approach, we can build courses to best suit your needs. These courses can be run online or in the field. |
